Farmore is a well established company started
by Bill Dowle to help people with Small/Lifestyle properties
to develop the lifestyle they want, and deserve, from their
property. There are many people offering fencing or stock
services to small/lifestyle property owners, but we want to
offer a full range of services on an ongoing basis. Hence
the name Farmore. We are “Far More” than just
one of shearing, or fencing, or stock work and management,
or pasture advice, or project management, or landscaping,
or pruning, or wool classing, or mechanical repairs or water
schemes; we will make it happen by doing it for you or organising
and coordinating someone to get the job done.
Most people who own a small block have a
very busy life without the added hassles involved in running
a small farm. The dream of owning the few acres in the country
where they can have a few sheep or cattle and space to relax
without the neighbours being right in their faces can easily
turn sour when the reality of the extra work involved hits. |

Having spent nearly all his life farming, Bill sold his
hill country property at Goose Bay, 18 km south of Kaikoura.
This involved the process of a subdivision which added to
the experiences that can be called on to assist clients
with their needs. Bill purchased a 23 acre lifestyle property
at Sefton and also a General engineering/industrial maintenance
business in Christchurch which he ran for 3 years before
he sold it to allow him to go back out into the country
where his heart has always been. Having both a lifestyle
property and a busy business in Christchurch helped Bill
appreciate the difficulties of having a busy business life
and a lifestyle property.

Having spent 40 years (starting while at school) building
on experiences Bill can use his skills that include nearly
every farming skill, “Red Tape” skills, having
had to deal with District and Regional Councils in both
applying for and complying with resource consents. Project
management, dealing with contractors - getting prices and
supervising and quality control.
Engineering skills which can be as simple as building a
new gate to getting a complicated piece of equipment running
again.
